Verity is hiring for a Community Impact ManagerinSeattle, WA.This is a remote/Seattle position. At Verity, we empower our member’s financial lives and create vibrant communities. Since 1933, Verity has been a local member-owned credit union. We are also the only financial institution in the Pacific Northwest that is a part of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV).

The Community Impact Manager is a key leadership position within our newly formed Community Impact Department. This role demands a combination of strategic insight, operational expertise, and a deep commitment to community empowerment. As the Community Impact Manager, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing initiatives that align with the CDFI's mission of financial inclusion for all. As a champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Community Impact Manager will work to ensure that our programs and initiatives are accessible, culturally responsive, and inclusive of all members of our community. You will lead a dynamic team comprising a Financial Coach and a Community Relations Specialist.

- Base Pay:This positionhas a salary range of $98,585.56(minimum) to $147,878.34(maximum), with a midpoint of $123,231.95. Starting pay is offered based upon an applicant’s experience and education relevant to the position.
- Paid Time Off: All Verity employees receive 11 paid holidays per year and 3 floating holidays, as well as paid time off (PTO is combined vacation and sick leave.) PTO starts accruing immediately at a rate of 20 days per year.
- Benefits:Both full and part time employees (and their family) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, with a no cost option available for employee only coverage! Employees have the option to enroll in our 401k plan and receive an employer match up to 6%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Co-create, execute, and manage CDFI-related programs focused on financial education/literacy, wellness, community engagement, and economic development.
- Monitor program performance, measure impact, and adapt strategies as needed.
- Oversee the implementation of community development programs and services.
- Develop and implement community development plans in conjunction with senior leadership.
- Coordinate all community engagement activities and CDFI-related initiatives to grow the credit union’s presence in the market.
- Demonstrated story-telling ability to build and present through Community Impact Report.
- Attend community events, fundraisers, and networking events.
- Establish, build, and grow authentic partnerships with non-profits, governmental entities, public agencies, schools, technical assistance providers, and other lenders.
- Focus on partnerships that share the credit union's commitment to serving financially underserved communities through financial wellness and education, community impact, CDFI lending, and advocacy.
- Develop metrics and systems to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of financial wellness and education, community impact, and CDFI lending programs.
- Focus on understanding the impact on financially underserved communities by soliciting feedback from members and the community.
- Use data to make data-driven decisions about program improvements.
- Collaborate with senior management to provide guidance, insights, and feedback on structuring, underwriting, and developing marketing, community outreach materials, and products to meet the needs of the community.
- Utilize the ability to take information from a wide variety of sources and synthesize/analyze it in the context of the credit union’s vision and community development mission.
- Lead the Community Impact team, setting clear objectives and goals aligned with Verity’s mission and Community Impact agenda.
- Foster an environment of continuous learning and development with the team.
- Provide coaching, support and guidance on the Community Impact team’s professional development.
- Regularly assess and prioritize team goals and tasks.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in community development, financial services, or related sector. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, community development, social impact or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years leadership and management experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Community Development Expertise: Demonstrated experience and expertise in community development initiatives. Strong networking skills to build partnerships and alliances that enhance community impact efforts.
- Financial Services Knowledge: Understanding of financial services and their impact on community development. Understanding of the financial inequities faced by historically underserved communities. Confidently develops and managers community impact budget.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and internal teams.
- Program Management: Proficiency in program management, including planning, execution, and evaluation of community impact programs. Knowledge and experience in grant writing, as well as effective fund management for community programs.
- Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop initiatives that have a positive and sustainable impact on the community. Strong analytical skills to assess community needs, measure impact, and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey impact goals and outcomes to diverse audiences.
- Leadership Abilities: Leadership skills to guide and inspire teams working on community impact projects with results-driven approach to ensure that community impact goals are achieved effectively.
- Advocacy and Empowerment: Ability to advocate for the community and empower individuals to take an active role in their financial well-being. Advocacy skills to represent the credit union and community impact initiatives to external stakeholders.
- Cultural Competence: Cultural sensitivity and competence to engage with diverse communities respectfully.
- Innovative Thinking and Adaptability: Creativity and innovation in developing new approaches and solutions for community impact. Ability to adapt to changing community needs and evolving priorities.
- Education and Training: Ability to educate and train community members on financial literacy and related topics.
- Adherence to Regulations and Ethical Standards: Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in community development. Adherence to high ethical standards in all community impact activities.
